PROGRAM OF INSTRUCTION

There are two divisions within the Academy’s program of instruction: the Preparatory Division for preschool and school-age students and adults, and the College Division for students preparing for a performance career.

The Academy of Music offers a Performer's Certificate to high school graduates, an Artist Diploma for those individuals who hold a Bachelor of Music Degree, and a curriculum leading to a Bachelor of Music (Performance) degree through Thompson Rivers University, Open Learning (TRU-OL).

Students enrolled in the College Division take all their music courses at the Academy; a minimum of six credits of general education requirements must be taken through TRU-OL. Although the Academy and TRU-OL remain independent of each other, the two institutions work together to offer a complete professional music program, thereby making available to the Academy’s students the total resources of a professional music school and an academically accredited university.
